COMSAT partners with Inmarsat, Iridium, Thuraya and Intelsat to deliver global mobile and fixed satellite communications services for government, commercial and individual customers in locations without reliable terrestrial network coverage.
Global Xpress offers high-speed broadband over the Inmarsat Ka-band network with a consistent user experience worldwide. Steerable spot beams target capacity where needed for constant, reliable performance. Available in both commercial and MILSATCOM frequencies, Global Xpress can be integrated to augment existing government platforms or used as a standalone solution.
The service is suitable for personnel on the move, on the pause or at a fixed location, with hand-carry, transportable, vehicle-mounted and static terminals available, in both commercial and military-grade. Multi-megabit data rates allow more bandwidth-intensive applications such as large file transfer, live video and satellite backhaul, as well as voice, email, messaging, internet access and videoconferencing. Service plans include a choice of Committed and Maximum Information Rates with flexible contract lengths.
COMSAT’s private terrestrial infrastructure is directly connected to Inmarsat’s satellite ground stations for Global Xpress to deliver secure, end-to-end global connectivity of customer traffic.
BGAN offers reliable global broadband connectivity for mobile and fixed applications over the Inmarsat L-band network. It’s ideal for remote teams to quickly set up a temporary base and keep in contact with the office, command center or home. Accessible via portable, vehicular and fixed devices, it supports simultaneous voice and standard IP data up to 492 kbps for email and internet, with streaming data available to at least 384 kbps and up to 450 kbps with BGAN X-Stream for live video applications. BGAN HDR takes average speeds to 600-700 kbps and bonding two terminals together can increase connection speeds to over 1 Mbps. Compatible with IP, voice and ISDN encryption equipment, it also supports discrete operations with GPS-free features.
The Iridium Certus L-band network of meshed LEO satellites is designed for high reliability and low latency. With standard IP data speeds up to 704 kbps download and 352 kbps upload, it’s ideal for high-quality voice calls, email, internet access, video streaming, file and IoT data transfer. The network is also backwards compatible with existing Iridium devices.
COMSAT has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide Certus services to all Department of Defense (DoD) EMSS users. This includes discounted pricing, SIM cards and airtime through the DISA Storefront or COMSAT directly; and 24/7 NOC staffed by security-cleared personnel in the US. Global EMSS IP and voice traffic is routed through a segregated network accessible only by EMSS users.
Thuraya delivers reliable mobile satellite services over its L-band network covering the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia and most of Africa. With data speeds up to 444 kbps for standard IP and 384 kbps for streaming IP, it’s ideal for voice calls, email, internet access, videoconferencing and M2M/IoT data. Seamless roaming onto GSM networks is possible throughout most of the world on Thuraya dual-mode handsets with two SIM cards to support flexible switching between satellite and GSM services.
FlexMove delivers resilient, high-bandwidth Ku-band connectivity up to 10 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload over the Intelsat EPIC network using 60-cm antennas. It’s designed for data-intensive applications on the move via a vehicle-mounted satellite antenna, or for temporary use at a fixed location via a portable terminal. The platform’s multi-spot beam technology also enables enhanced anti-jam and interference mitigation, for secure and resilient communications. COMSAT is an Authorized Master Distributor for Intelsat FlexMove.
